Governor Kinyanjui disburses bursary worth Ksh 47million
Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui today disbursed the first tranche of 2017/2018 Nakuru County Education Bursary fund worth Ksh 47, 413,749 to 9,044 needy students.
Speaking at the launch at the County Government of Nakuru headquarters, Governor Kinyanjui said the County has put in place measures to ensure deserving cases benefit.
“We ask school headteachers to ensure funds are well utilised to improve performance in the county which has been on a decline,” he said.
He said the County Government will work with stakeholders to ensure that public schools are offer quality education.
Nakuru CECM for Education, ICT and e-Government Raymond Komen said the County will soon launch a project to equip classrooms with desks due to the rising number of pupils in schools.
Also present at the disbursement ceremony was Nakuru Deputy Governor Dr. Erick Korir, County Assembly Majority Leader Stanley Karanja, Mr Douglas Ayabei, the County Assembly Education Committee chairman, County Education officials and a host of MCAs.
