Governor Kinyanjui attends prayers for Solai tragedy victims at AIPCA Lanet
Nakuru Governor Lee and this afternoon attended prayers for families affected by the Solai dam tragedy and victims of floods across the country at Africa Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA), Lanet.
Also present was AIPCA Archbishop Fredrick Wang’ombe and host Bishop Peter Gatuna.
The Governor said this has been a trying week for Nakuru over the Solai tragedy.
“We thank the church for praying and donating to the victims. We urge churches to join us for interdenominational prayers to be held on Wednesday at Solai,” he said.
He urged the church to pray for the County and country so that leaders can bring about positive change that benefit the people.
He said the church plays a crucial role in complementing services offered by government including schools and hospitals. He said the County will partner and support churches in such initiatives.
Members of the church held a fundraiser for the victims of Solai tragedy and will mobilise their branches countrywide to donate. The church leadership said the donations will be delivered to victims in Solai on Wednesday.
