Donations to reach the deserving needy, County assures
The County Government of Nakuru has assured donors of prudent distribution of items to target communities.
The County has called on well-wishers to complement its humanitarian assistance efforts through the Nakuru Community Support Initiative kitty.
Governor Lee Kinyanjui in an earlier address said only collaborative partnerships would help governments meet total resource requirements for humanitarian assistance.
Thousands of families are in dire and urgent need of humanitarian assistance due to the effects of COVID-19 pandemic and displacements due to floods in the region.
And today, the Deputy Governor Dr Erick Korir received 110 bales of fortified wheat flour from Gulf African Bank – Nakuru Branch.
He thanked the financial institution for the timely gesture adding, “Our doors remain open for other well-wishers and every gesture will be accounted for.”
Today’s donation will go a long way in cushioning the Muslim community from the effects of COVID-19 during the Ramadan period.
The bank’s branch manager Mr Stephen Muibei said the institution will explore other areas of collaboration in County’s humanitarian assistance programs.
The County Government of Nakuru has partnered with the Kenya Red Cross due to their expertise in handling humanitarian interventions.
