Ksh 1 million Greening Kabazi Project launched in Kabazi Ward
To create a healthy and conducive environment for traders and residents, the County Government has today launched the sh. 1 million Greening Kabazi Project at Kabazi Ward, Subukia Sub-county.
The project will see 400 Thika palm (Filicium decipiens) trees and Candlenut (Aleurites moluccanus) trees planted along 8 streets in Kabazi Shopping Centre and around the Market Square.
Overseeing the launch, Chief Officer Environment, Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Kiogora Muriithi, urged the residents of Kabazi to take individual responsibility of caring for the trees as they would surely benefit from the outcome thereof.
Mr. Muriithi also gave a stern warning to residents to keep their livestock away from the planted trees or risk being fined.
Area MCA Dr.Peter Mbae commended the county administration for its efforts in greening and beautifying the otherwise dusty shopping center.
Also present were local environment officers, the DCC, and ACC among other local administrators.
