More medics trained on COVID-19 vaccine administration to boost drive
The County Government of Nakuru is training more healthcare workers to increase the speed of administration of the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab to cover the target population in the shortest time possible.
The County targets to vaccinate about 11,000 eligible population in the first phase. In the last two weeks, over 600 frontline healthcare workers have received the COVID-19 Oxford/AstraZeneca jab.
Today, 30 medical practitioners from Level 4 facilities and selected private hospitals have gone through a 1-day training program at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.
Vaccination of frontline healthcare workers with the COVID-19 Oxford/AstraZeneca jab is ongoing in Public Health facilities across the County.
Present at the training were the County Chief Nursing Officer, Ms Virginia Njenga, County Health Promotion Officer, Ms Ellen Ngware and the County ICT-Health, Mr James James Ndung’u.
