Nakuru County and USAID to continue supporting youth empowerment projects

The County Government of Nakuru in partnership with USAID is working to implement a project dubbed ‘ USAID Empowered Youth’ to support innovative and sustainable strategies, partnerships and youth-led approaches that promote youth empowerment, connect youth with each other and increase access and utilization of social and economic opportunities in the county.

The project will help increase connecting the youth between 18-24 and the vulnerable youth with demand-driven training in sectors with high growth potential, life skills and entrepreneurship training.

Additionally, it will help increase access to finance and other youth-serving systems and expand opportunities for youth-led and youth-friendly businesses in the county.

During a consultative meeting on the implementation of the projects, the CECMs from different departments present reiterated that the administration led by H.E Governor Susan Kihika is committed to supporting programs and projects that work towards empowering the youth in the county.

The partnership will also go a long way in creating job opportunities to meet the needs of the youth and addressing the issue of employment in the county.

The Meeting was joined by CECMs in charge of Youth, Gender, Social Services and Sports Ms Josephine Achieng, Trade, Tourism and Culture Hon Stephen Kuria, Education, ICT and E-Governance – Hon Zipporah Ngugi and Agriculture CECM Mr Leonard Bor
