
Facelift for Jawatho Stadium, construction of a perimeter wall at Njoro OVC Rehabilitation Center handed to the contractor

Jawatho Stadium in Njoro Ward will receive a 7 million shilling facelift that will encompass the construction of a sanitation block, changing rooms, flood lights and water connection.
The facelift is intended to encourage more youths in the area to participate in sporting activities and in a conducive environment.
Speaking during the site handover to the contractor, Gender, Sports, and Social Services Executive Josephine Achieng urged youths to apply for job opportunities during the construction to improve their livelihoods.
Ms Achieng also implored the youths not to engage in drugs but to involve themselves in activities such as sports that can earn them a living. She also urged the contractor to consider more youths.
Mr Newton Mwaura the Chief Officer in the Office of the Governor reiterated the commitment of Governor Susan Kihika’s administration to deliver all projects timely and efficiently.
He also urged the community to own and protect the project as well as the contractors to finish the projects on time.
Also handed over to the contractor is the construction of a perimeter wall at Njoro OVC Rehabilitation Center in Njoro Ward.
The 10 million shilling project will see the facility which is meant to host street children for the purpose of reuniting them with their families and job opportunities being operationalized.
The centre will later be turned into a rehabilitation centre for those recovering from the effects of drug abuse in Nakuru County.
The contractor affirmed his full commitment towards the successful completion of the project and the fulfilment of all contractual obligations during the implementation.
The administration under the leadership of HE Governor Susan Kihika is results oriented and it looks forward to ensuring decent work is done in all projects in the county.
Also present during the site handing over were Sports Chief Officer Stella Mwaura, Gender, Social Services and Inclusivity Chief Officer Gladys Kamuren, Chief Officer in the Office of the Governor, Newton Mwaura and area MCA Hezekiah Kung’u among others.
