Nakuru City Queens will play in the finals of FKF WOMEN’S CUP after thrashing Kibera Soccer ladies 3-2 in a tournament played at Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) Njoro.
Earlier during the week, City Queens had won against Thika Queens on Penalties at Ruaraka Grounds Nairobi, with Kibra Soccer Girls also beating Kahawa Queens at the same venue.
While congratulating the team for winning the semi-finals of the Women’s Cup, Ag. County Sports Director David Kimani reiterated that the Nakuru County Department of Sports is working towards nurturing sports talents across the County.
This is in line with Governor Susan Kihika’s agenda of empowering the Nakuru County youths through various sporting activities.
Nakuru City Queens are in partnership with Trinity Mission School located in Gilgil Sub County.
The school Director Bishop Josan Kariuki said the main objective of this partnership is to nurture talents through a sports academy they initiated earlier on. They are sponsoring 25 students at Trinity School.
Kibera Soccer Ladies Head Coach Mr Ramadhan Vijago admitted the defeat by his counterpart Mr Bernard Esitoko alias NDOVU of Nakuru City Queens.
