Two Nakuru girls picked to join National Girls’ Under 18 team

Nakuru County is proud to have produced 2 football players for the National Girls’ Under 18 Harambee Starlets team that will play in the upcoming CECAFA U18 Championship between June 24-July 8 in Nairobi.

In the provisional squad named by the head coach Beldine Odemba, Sheila Kaare Wanjiru and Inna Akinyi from Nakuru made it to the list as forward and midfielder respectively.

The players from 105 Nini Farm and Fussball Naks Ladies football clubs were scouted from Menengai High School grounds on May 14, 2023, during the CECAFA under 18 Women Trials conducted by Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Chief Officer of Youth Affairs Gender and Sports Stellah Mwaura congratulated the girls and told them to be focused and trust the processes as they shape their future and believe in God.
