Nakuru County continues the “Zero Garbage Campaign” in Subukia Town

The County government of Nakuru today participated in a clean-up exercise together with other  Government agencies at Subukia town, Subukia Sub-County.

This initiative aims at raising awareness and sensitising communities on waste management to ensure a sustainable waste management plan that will lead to a clean, safe and healthy environment in urban centres across the county.

Environmental protection and conservation align with Governor Susan Kihika’s Manifesto of combating the effects of climate change making Nakuru a clean and green County.

Cleaning and maintaining a clean environment preserves our biosphere, reduces pollution, helps us to stay healthy, care for our homes and possessions and also makes the surroundings more pleasant.

In this regard, the administration of H. E Governor Susan Kihika is committed to ensuring regular cleaning of our towns removing garbage and contaminants to prevent illness and promote wellness among the people of Subukia and the County at large.

Through such activities business environment in marketplaces is set to be improved hence promoting economic growth.
With a good environment, the business people in the County will not only be motivated but also work with passion hence contributing to an increase in the County’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The exercise was spearheaded by the County Executive for Infrastructure Egn Michael Kamau, Area MCA  Isabella  Makori, Ward Administrators Gitonga Kinyanjui (Subukia) and Simon Macharia (Waseges), Martin Gichinga from the office of the Governor, County environmental officers, County enforcement team, National Youth Service, Chiefs and the scouts among others.
