
Sports Chief Officer Alex Maina Unveils Plans for Sports Growth in Nakuru

In alignment with Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to promoting sports across the county, Chief Officer for Youth, Sports, Talent, and Resource Mobilization, Pastor Alex Maina, convened a meeting with the leadership of the Kenya Darts Association, Nakuru Branch and Mix Martial Arts at the County Headquarters.
During the meeting, Mr. Peter Kariuki the darts chairperson, emphasized the achievements of darts and urged the directorate to provide support for events in the Darts Calendar.
Meanwhile, Mr. Peter Njenga discussed ways to enhance the martial arts industry, emphasizing its role in combating issues like drug abuse, idleness, crime rates, and early pregnancies in the community.
Assuring the department’s unwavering support, the County’s Chief Officer outlined plans to utilize social halls for youth access and indoor game training. Additionally, he announced the upcoming Governor’s Cup tournament for Darts and Mix Martial Arts.
The Darts P.R Officer Pascal Wanjala said the Darts games is now picking up across the county since they have got nine participatory clubs likes of Njoro Club and Prisons Darts club from Nakuru County.They need this to be prioritized by the County Governmented by the able Chief Officer Pastor Alex Maina.
The Bondeni Head Coach for Kickboxing Madam Irene Wambui spotted out various ways which the girl child can be rescued from school drop outs , early Pregnancy and sexual harassment, and urged the office to consider that.
The Kivumbini Head coach for Mr Daniel Owino said the majority of the comrades do access the social hall whereby 50 partcipants do train daily at the kivumbini social hall.
The Chief Officer Pastor Alex Maina further urged the groups to put into consideration the formation of their troops to benefit from the economic growth projects such car wash, Bush caters , plastic chairs and tents to earn them a living daily.
