
Kenya Girl Guide Association Marks World Thinking Day in Nakuru

The County Executive Committee Member for Youth, Sports, Gender, and Social Services, Josephine Atieno on Saturday graced the World Thinking Day hosted by The Kenya Girl Guides Association (KGGA) at St. Mary’s Girls School.
The theme for this year’s event which is marked annually in February, was “Our World, Our Thriving Future: The Environment and Global Poverty.” The focus is on empowering Girl Guides with skills to tackle obstacles in their endeavours.
CECM Josephine urged the girl guides to remain steadfast and focused as leaders of today and tomorrow. She also emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities in sporting activities to generate decent incomes, contributing to poverty eradication in communities.
Chief Commissioner Kenya Girl Guide Association, Professor Faith Nguru, celebrated the Kenyan branch being part of the global community that has shown them tremendous support. She also highlighted their unity in the commitment to fostering a cleaner environment, promoting peace as well as ensuring sustainability in the society.
Tony Paparazzi who is a Gilgil Board Member said the event was a day to remember the founders Lord and Lady Baden Powell. It was also a day to give back to the society and remember other girl guides around the world.
The event saw the participation Katam Chebet (ACC), Betty Kirui (KGGA-Commissioner Training), June Simatel (KGGA-County Commissioner), and others.
