
Partnering With the Sports Fraternity to Nurture Talents

The Chief Officer for Youth, Sports, Talent, and Resource Mobilization Pastor Alex Maina, convened a crucial meeting with leaders from various sports federations at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru County.
The primary goal was to seek support from the County government for sports disciplines like Football, Judo, Para-Volleyball, Kabadi, Paragliding, Cycling, Mixed Martial Arts, Chess, Swimming, and others, grappling with challenges such as financial constraints and a lack of training gears, and workshops for the leadership.
The Chief Officer urged the federations to link up well with sports officers from sub-counties to promote grassroots sports. He also promised to meet the sports committees at the County headquarters to tackle the sporting grievances.
Francis Oliele the Nakuru County Chairman of the Federation of Kenya Football (FKF) lauded the chief officer for the tremendous support. He also requested that there be renovation of stadia to aid sporting activities across Nakuru county. The Secretary for the Nakuru County Branch Darts Council Joseph Mwangi, invited the representatives to their darts competition.
Rajab Langoi who is a judo representative said there should be proper communication to citizens so that the sporting events reach those at the grassroots levels.
Sporting events are a key source of income as well as a platform for people to express themselves and promote their talents.
By solving all these obstacles from the sporting industry, Nakuru County will shine well being the home for greatness and a source of talent as far as sports is concerned. There will be many legends produced that will come from all sporting disciplines in Nakuru.
