County Executive Committee Member for Health, Roselyn Mungai, recently visited Maji Tamu Health Centre in Solai Ward, Rongai Sub-County, where she praised the nursing team’s exceptional professionalism. Led by Immaculate Rotich, Linda Kilimo, Ann Mwaura, and Paul Gicheru, Ms. Mungai highlighted their capability, commitment, and forward-thinking approach. “They are always one step ahead, anticipating challenges and devising solutions,” she remarked, impressed by their proactive stance in meeting community healthcare needs.
Ms. Mungai emphasized the critical role of such healthcare workers in realizing Governor Susan Kihika’s vision for a healthier Nakuru County. Their foresight and dedication exemplify the county’s commitment to providing top-notch healthcare services.
Continuing her tour, Ms Mungai visited Arus Dispensary in Solai Ward, Rongai Sub-County. Despite its modest size, the dispensary profoundly impacts its close-knit community of 1,200 residents, managing an average of 300 patients monthly. Commending Jemimah Raen, the nurse in charge, Ms. Mungai noted her dedication to ensuring personalized patient care. The dispensary’s strategic location fosters primary care, supported by a robust network including health centres at Lower Solai and Maji Tamu.
Reflecting on the collaborative spirit evident among these facilities, Ms Mungai underscored the profound impact of accessible healthcare on community well-being. “Community and collaboration are powerful forces in healthcare,” she affirmed, highlighting the interconnectedness and mutual support among healthcare providers in the region.
In recognition of exemplary service, Nakuru County celebrates Isaac Ikapes, a male nurse at Set Kobor Dispensary, Solai Ward, Rongai Sub-County. Isaac’s commitment shines through as he serves an average of 550 patients monthly with confidence and compassion. During her visit, Ms Mungai praised Isaac for setting a high standard in patient care and acknowledged the pivotal role of male nurses in Nakuru’s healthcare system.
Ms Mungai reiterated the importance of her visits to facilities like Set Kobor Dispensary, noting they provide invaluable insights into local healthcare dynamics and inform strategic decisions to enhance service delivery across similar settings. These visits, she emphasized, are instrumental in aligning the Department of Health’s efforts with the evolving needs of Nakuru residents.
As Nakuru County continues to support and recognize healthcare professionals’ efforts, Ms. Mungai affirmed H.E. Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to fostering excellence and improving healthcare quality throughout the region.
