Village Impact partners with Nakuru County to expand education Infrastructure.

Over 6000 learners from Nakuru County have benefitted from conducive learning environment yearly, through the Village Impact, a prominent non-profit organization transformative education initiative.

Since establishing its roots in Nakuru County, Village Impact has constructed and equipped 16 primary and secondary schools from the ground up, with an ambitious roadmap to increase that number to 25 completed schools by 2035.

In partnership with Nakuru County, Village Impact has also constructed, remodelled and equipped 10 Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classrooms in various Sub-Counties across Nakuru County, significantly boosting the Counties efforts to modernize all ECDE centers within Nakuru County.

Speaking while she paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Governor H.E. David Kones, Village Impact’s Director of Possibilities/Operations Carey Leader, said that, the organization is set to construct additionally 8 ECDE classrooms to further boost education in underserved areas.

“The foundation of these learners is crucial to their entire educational journey,” said Ms. Leader. “This year, our efforts are dedicated to building and equipping eight more classrooms to ensure younger learners in underserved areas have the start they deserve.”

Deputy Governor Kones lauded the initiative, noting
that, the organization has played a tremendous role in upgrading learning institution in Nakuru County, from the ECDE level to the primary level.

“We are more than delighted to walking with you, through this journey, the county Government under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika is prepared to meet your investment with essential supporting infrastructure to ensure the projects are sustainable and impactful,” He said.

To ensure the project sustainability and maximum benefit to the beneficiaries and the community, Hon. Kones said various intervention will be undertaken through a multi-departments approach.

“As a county we will ensure these classrooms transform lives, we will rehabilitate existing access roads, and hire additional ECDE teachers to man these facilities, in addition to our already ongoing initiatives such as the feeding program across all our ECDE centers which has significantly increased enrollment.”

Dr. Victor Achoka, Chief Officer for Resource Mobilization, pledged full administrative support, including the facilitation of a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to streamline future collaborations.

Village Impact is a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through education. The organization partners with the local governments and communities, they build and equip schools that provide safe, high-quality learning environments for children in underserved regions.

The organization, Kenya’s Office is headquartered in Nakuru County at Bustani Manor, which also serves as a social enterprise with 100 percent of the profits from the manor going directly toward funding their educational programs.

Formerly known as World Teacher Aid, Village Impact was founded by entrepreneurs Amy and Stu McLaren.
