Water and Sanitation Chief Officer Margaret Kinyanjui has today handed over the Kambi-Ndoro Water Project in Biashara Ward, Naivasha Sub-county to the contractor for piping and distribution to residents.
The 4.2-kilometre water line once complete will serve areas of Independent Church, Kambi-Ndoro, and Kwa White among other areas targeting over 1700 residents in 250 households. The CO took the opportunity to urge locals to safeguard the infrastructure.
Area MCA Elijah Mwaura on his part lauded Governor Susan Kihika for the project which he said will ensure locals have access to clean water in their homes.
Locals who spoke said the project was a game changer in the area as homesteads were dependent on shallow water pans which in turn brought about waterborne diseases.
Kambi-Ndoro Water Project Management Committee chairman Wainaina Tuthu said the project had been well managed in transparent phases.
He called on the governor to move to other wards within the county revealing that water was a key commodity all residents needed to access.
Echoing similar sentiments, Mary Wanjiku heaped praises on Kihika’s agenda on water saying it was at the heart of many locals.
