City Management Achieves Success in Transformative Infrastructural Project

In a significant step towards enhancing urban development and improving the quality of life, Nakuru City has recently achieved remarkable success in completing its various infrastructural projects.
The completion of these infrastructural projects with a focus on roads and drainage systems, is a testament to H.E Governor Susan Kihika’s unwavering commitment to expediting the implementation of the projects.
The road projects include the construction of Kipchoge Keino Road, Mashindano, Chui, Matundu, Crater Climb, Kakamega, Lower Tom-Mboya, the road behind Gilanis, Burgain Road among others in Nakuru Town East and Nakuru Town West sub-counties.
The projects also incorporated the installation of solar-powered street lights and advanced CCTV cameras to further enhance the security and efficiency of roads.
By prioritizing the construction of missing link roads, resilient drainage systems, and incorporating sustainable practices, the City Management has made remarkable steps toward creating a well-planned and future-ready urban landscape.
Further, the improved drainage systems have led to enhanced resilience and minimized potential destruction of the city’s infrastructure during extreme weather conditions.
Recognizing the importance of these projects for the development and well-being of Wanjiku, H.E. the Governor made it a priority to speed up their implementation and completion.
This was through the development of a robust monitoring and evaluation system that generated regular progress reports on project updates allowing for timely intervention and corrective measures to address any bottleneck issues.
Through the administration’s collaborative efforts with various key stakeholders, the backlog of stalled projects was significantly reduced, resulting in the successful completion of several road and stormwater drainage projects which now serve the city residents and contribute to its economic development.
H.E Governor Susan Kihika’s unwavering commitment to expediting the implementation of the City’s infrastructural projects was evident from the time she took office.
The Management is currently engaging neighborhoods to gather views and proposals on priority projects that serve as the basis for identification of future projects during the second phase of KUSP funding. This is being done through H.E. Governor Susan Kihika’s Neighborhood Engagement Initiative.
