County handover site for ECDE classroom construction

Nakuru County through the Department of Education, has today handed over the site for the construction of two Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) at Crater View Primary School in Nakuru Town East.
County Director for Education Millicent Yugi revealed that the Sh2.99 million project will be equipped with necessary learning materials including age-appropriate furniture, cautioning the contractor against a substandard building.
Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika is keen on promoting the education sector including the ECDE.
Up on completion, the classrooms is set to provide a conducive learning environment for the young learner in PP1 and PP2 as they lay the foundation for their future.
This is also set to increase the enrollment of the young ones in the school.
Speaking during the site handing over Yugi asked the contractor to provide good quality work for posterity noting that the governor is keen on the provision of quality work and quality service delivery to the residents.
She assured the contractor of the county’s support to ensure that quality work is completed within the stipulated time.
On her part, Crater View Primary School headteacher Nancy Maige thanked the Governor for the two classrooms being the first ever to be constructed in the school since devolution. She noted that it will help reduce congestion and accommodate both PP1 and PP2 learners comfortably in their respective classes. The two groups have been sharing a classroom.
The Ward Administrator and a representative from the office of the MCA Biashara ward also called on the contactor to engage the casual labourers from within especially the youth during the construction period.
The contractor affirmed his full commitment to the successful completion of the project and the fulfilment of all contractual obligations during the implementation.
