County to continue supporting the vulnerable during festive season

Written by Mercy Kihugu

Today H.E. Deputy Governor David Kones led this year’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Nyayo Gardens in Nakuru City where he urged people to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and share with the less fortunate in society.

The Deputy Governor also urged Nakuru residents to be careful on the roads as most accidents often happen at this time of the year to avoid more damage on our roads.

“The administration led by H.E. the Governor will ensure that it provides a conducive environment for business especially security during the festive season,” he added.

In addition, the county will continue supporting, empowering and providing a platform for residents, especially the youth, to showcase their talents.

A number of residents drawn from vulnerable groups such as people living with disabilities, orphans, widows and the elderly drawn from Nakuru Town East and Nakuru Town West Sub-counties received food donations during the exercise from the County Government.

The administration will continue donating Christmas gifts to vulnerable groups in other sub-counties in subsequent days.
