Deputy Governor David Kones calls for enhanced integrity and accountability.

Nakuru County Deputy Governor H.E David Kones has urged County officials to be agents of positive transformation by upholding national values and highest levels of integrity in their roles.
Deputy Kones who had accompanied EACC Commissioner CPA John Ogolla during the opening of a 7-day training program sponsored by EACC for CECM and Chief Officers, emphasized the critical role they play in ensuring accountable governance in service delivery.
“Prevention is better than cure. To fight corruption, we must embed public awareness and ethical education from the grassroots to shift the mindset of our people. I call for long-term reforms designed to curb bribery in Nakuru County,” the Deputy Governor noted.
In his address, EACC Commissioner John Ogolla stressed the need of creating a conducive environment that promote accountability in service delivery. He further underscored the detrimental impact of corruption on development.
“This training is part of our collaboration with Nakuru County to curb corruption. Our goal is to ensure that public service interactions are transparent and ethical. Corruption hinder service delivery to the people which further erodes the public trust, u therefore urge the county officials to act with integrity to restore public trust,” he said.
This sensitization training program being conducted by officials from The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) aims to equip the County officials and tbose from private sector with the necessary tools to combat corruption and uphold ethical standards in their roles.
Nakuru County’s commitment to combating corruption is further demonstrated by the establishment of a Corruption Prevention Committee, led by the Governor. This committee focuses on strengthening internal systems, fostering accountability, and ensuring that public resources are utilized transparently for the benefit of all citizens.
Also present at the training were EACC Deputy Director of Education and Public Awareness Dr. Emily Mworia and EACC South Rift Regional Manager Ignatius Wekesa among other County and EACC officials.
