Residents of Kiptangwanyi and Elementaita Ward in Gilgil Sub-county now have improved access to County Government services with the opening of a new administration block and revenue office by Nakuru County Governor Susan Kihika.
The new facility aims to bring essential services closer to the community, saving residents time and resources otherwise spent traveling to distant government offices.
Governor Kihika emphasized that this local hub will serve as a convenient point where people can seek assistance and support more readily.
“With County administrators now available on-site, residents can have their concerns addressed promptly, making government services more accessible and responsive,” said Governor Kihika.
The facility is part of a broader initiative to streamline service delivery in remote areas.
Additionally, the Governor addressed the long-standing land issues affecting Kiptangwanyi Farmers Company shareholders, who have awaited title deeds for almost 50 years.
She assured them that, in collaboration with Lands Principal Secretary Nixon Korir, title issuance is nearing completion, directing Lands CECM John Kihagi and the company chairman to oversee the issuance process.
In a move to relieve financial burdens, the Governor announced the County’s decision to waive accumulated Settlement Fund Trustee interest and outstanding rates for Kiambogo settlement schemes.
She also pledged to resolve title issues for 12 local schools, securing land ownership and stability for these educational institutions. Plans to upgrade the Kiptangwanyi Health Centre to a Level 4 Hospital were also revealed, promising improved healthcare services for the community.
The Governor highlighted several other projects underway in Elementaita Ward. Roads are set for grading and murraming at a cost of Sh5 million, improving transportation and connectivity.
Additionally, waiting bays are being constructed at Kiambogo and Kiptangwanyi Dispensaries, with budgets of Sh1.2 million and Sh1.5 million, respectively, while Sh1 million has been allocated to fence and install a gate at Munanda Dispensary.
Education and water infrastructure have also received attention. Jogoo ECDE will receive a new classroom, toilet, and fencing, totaling Sh3.5 million, while Kahuho Jire, Manyeki, Ngecha, and Oakland ECDE centers will receive new classrooms and equipment with funding between Sh1.8 million and Sh3.5 million.
Additionally, she revealed that the County will fund the installation of water pipes for Kiptangwanyi and Ngecha water projects at a cost of Sh 1.9 million.
Meanwhile, the Lands Department has allocated Sh7 million for a survey and planning project in New Game Mutukanio, Gilgil, to support organized development.
Also present during the event were Deputy Governor David Kones, County Secretary Samuel Mwaura, Chief of Staff Peter Ketyenya, CECMs, CO’s, who underscored a shared commitment to improving local communities.
Through these projects, Governor Kihika’s administration is addressing immediate community needs while laying a foundation for sustainable development, enhancing the quality of life and accessibility to essential services for Nakuru County residents.
