
Governor Susan Kihika Flags off Health Products within 50 first days in office.

Governor Susan Kihika has flagged off the first consignment of Health Products and Technologies (HPTs) worth Ksh.48 Million procured by the County Government of Nakuru from Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies- MEDS.
“This consignment will be distributed to all our 16 Hospitals and 178 Rural health facilities (total 194 facilities) for the provision of essential health services across the 11 Sub-counties” ,She said.
Other Sub-counties have already received their consignment including Gilgil Sub County Hospital delivered yesterday 1st November 2022.
The various categories of Health products and technologies in this consignment include: Essential Medicines, Medical Supplies, Laboratory Products, Dental Products, Linen Products, Oncology/Cancer Products, Public Health Products, Renal Products, Medical Equipment, and Devices.
“We are also about to receive another consignment of HPTS from KEMSA in a week’s time procured by Nakuru county with support from Universal Health Coverage-UHC”, she added.
The County has issued drawing rights to all public health facilities worth Ksh. 100 Million and the facilities are currently preparing their orders for Quarter two of the financial year 2022/2023. This procurement will be from KEMSA.
The County under the Leadership of H.E Governor Susan Kihika is committed to ensure continuous and adequate supply of high quality HPTS to all our health facilities for the provision of essential health services to all the people of Nakuru County.
Also present was the Sales and Marketing Manager from MEDS, Shadrack Meme, Acting CECM for Health Ms. Jackline Osoro, Chief Officer for Public Health Dr. Daniel Wainaina, County Pharmacist, Dr. Alice Gichobi and members of the County Health Management Team.
