
Let us invest in our children’s education – CECM Zipporah Ngugi

Malcolm X once said that Education is the key to the future and tomorrow belongs to people who prepare for it today.
The County Executive Committee Member for Education Hon Zipporah Wambui today represented Her Excellency Governor Susan Kihika during the launch of the feeding the future programme at Sidai Primary School in Subukia sub-county.
The programme which is funded by Feeding Futures Organisation seeks to address needy cases of hunger from local communities by incorporating nutrition and will benefit 300 pupils in pre-primary and primary levels from Munanda Community.
Hon. Wambui took time to interact with pupils, parents and sponsors of the program and got to know how this was achieved through collaboration with the school administration. She also gave the Governor’s goodwill message and her dedication to education through a unique ECDE feeding programme that is in the pipeline and will be launched soon.
Hon Wambui elaborated on the County’s plans to roll out bursaries for needy learners and equipping of tertiary institutions to offer technical courses.
The organisation’s County Chair Mr Peterson Githinji hailed efforts made by the Departments of Education and Resource Mobilization and reiterated their commitment to work with the County Government of Nakuru.
The Chief Officer for Resource Mobilization Pastor Alex Maina thanked the sponsors for honouring their promise and investing in education in Subukia Sub-County.
Present were Chief Officer for Education John Koech, County Assembly education committee led by vice chairman George Nene, Hellen Chemtai Megek and host MCA Ms Isabella Makori.
