Naivasha and Gilgil Youth Coffee Bar during the IYW 2023 – Day 1

County Executive Member for Youth, Sports, Gender, and Social Services, Josephine Atieno Achieng’ officially inaugurated the Naivasha and Gilgil Coffee bar dialogue to commemorate the start of International Youth Week (IYW).
Achieng’ revealed that Governor Susan Kihika will unveil the Youth Policy on August 12, which aligns with her objective of formulating a Youth Policy to guide the establishment of various initiatives, including a County Patriotic Youth Programme to engage school leavers in a three-month volunteer service within the county.
Additionally, Chief Officers, Stellah Mwaura (Youths and Sports) and Pastor Alex Maina (Resource Mobilization) reassured the youth that the county is fully committed to establishing a Sports Fund which will nurture, and support sports talent throughout the county. He also highlighted the areas of youth support, especially in groups for resource mobilization.
CO Stellah Mwaura said the administration works hand in hand as a team to deliver the youth agenda.
Lakeview Ward MCA Alex Mbugua said the leadership of Nakuru County Governor H.E Susan Kihika is ready to support youths across the County who are more organized and ready to be supported.
Also in attendance were MCAs Joseph Muraya (Viwandani), Director Josephat Kimemia (Youth Affairs), Director Environment Grace Karanja, Naivasha Sub-county Administrator King’ori Mwangi, ward administrators, and representatives from Forumciv & DanChurchAid (DCA).
