
Nakuru Advances Partnership with State Department for Housing and Urban Development to Boost Urban Development

The County Government of Nakuru continues to advance its partnership with the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, focusing on a series of Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) market projects aimed at enhancing urban development, promoting sustainable growth, and improving the quality of life for Nakuru residents.
During a recent meeting, Richard Tuta, the Regional Lead for Affordable Housing and ESP Markets in the Rift Valley, engaged with the technical teams from the County’s Department of Trade and Public Works, providing an in-depth briefing on the scope and potential impacts of the collaboration, outlining the shared goals and responsibilities of both parties.
Mr. Tuta expressed his appreciation for the county government’s proactive cooperation who will be involved in complementary supervision of the projects, emphasizing that such collaborative efforts are pivotal for the success of developmental project.
“The full cooperation between the county government and the state department is commendable and essential for ensuring that our projects meet the needs of the residents and promote sustainable growth,” he remarked.
The Chief Officer for Roads and Public Transport, Samwel Ndegwa, noted that the County government will continue to work closely with the State Department team, to ensure that the projects, some of which have been launched in Gilgil and Bahati Sub-counties, are not only completed on time but also maintain the highest standards of quality.

As this partnership moves forward, both the County Government of Nakuru and the State Department for Housing and Urban Development will leverage their combined expertise to ensure the successful implementation of these projects. This cooperative approach is set to transform Nakuru into a model county for effective urban development and improved living standards.
H.E. Governor Susan Kihika is dedicated to driving these initiatives forward which promise substantial benefits for the residents of Nakuru.
Also present during the meeting was Trade Chief officer Benard Sang, Director Public Works Lilian Muiyela, Trade Projects Coordinator Veronicah Njiiri, engineers from the state department, quantity surveyors, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, structural engineers and architects.
