
Nakuru County Celebrates International Day of Families with Community Partners

Nakuru county government in collaboration with RHCO marked the International Day of Family dubbed World Family Day at Kenya forest service grounds.
The International Day of Families is celebrated worldwide annually on May 15 to raise awareness of social, economic and demographic processes affecting families across the world.
The county executive committee member for youth, sports and gender services Josephine Atieno reiterated the department’s efforts to ensure inclusivity her excellency Susan Kihika’s administration.
It is a day to celebrate the importance of families as the fundamental unit of society and to highlight their role in promoting economic and social development.
The day is observed with various events, discussions, and activities focused on strengthening family bonds and addressing challenges faced by families around the world.
Hon Neto Sakwa the Kivumbini Ward MCA said he will front the Gender Motion to the assembly to put more weight on its implementation by the Executive Wing of Governance.
The Non-government organisations vowed to champion the gender-based activities to sensitise the public in every corner of this county.
Martin Lunalo representative from RHCO urged the leaders present to enlighten other members of the community with the knowledge acquired by them during the symposium Culmination of the International Day of Families of Kenya Forest.
People present were Honerable Neto Sakwa Kivumbini MCA, representatives from RHCO, NEPHAK, BCN, WISE CN, OCTRE, SMART LADIES, HOPE IN LIFE, OCPD and KARUNA WELLNESS.
