Nakuru County Government partners with Davis and Shirtliff Company in Staff Training

The County Government of Nakuru through its Directorate of Water and Sanitation and in collaboration with Davis and Shirttlif Company held a training workshop for Engineers drawn from its water directorate.
CECM for Water, Environment Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change Dr Nelson Maara urged engineers and water stakeholders to ensure sustainable and efficient water management systems for Community progress.
By having regular training, the water Engineers and stakeholders will be equipped with the best knowledge and tools to design effective solar pumping systems by harnessing Sun energy thereby reducing power costs and carbon emissions from generator-driven engines.
He added that Governor Susan Kihika remains committed to engaging various stakeholders in improving, enhancing and providing clean and safe drinking water in Nakuru County.
On her part Chief Officer for Water and Sanitation Services Eng. Margret Kinyanjui said proper pump selection, design and solar installation are essential for reliable, efficient borehole operations and water provision. She appreciated the company’s role in its Corporate Social Responsibility towards Nakuru County.
Davis and Shirtliff Nakuru Branch manager, Joseph Nga’ng’a, said the firm is committed to ensuring continued service improvement on boreholes and pump installations. He further appreciated the great collaborative efforts with the County Government of Nakuru over the past years.
The group was trained on pump sizing and selection design, technological advancement in water pumping, solar pumping solutions and Solarization of Boreholes.
Present were, Ag. County Water Director Stephen Waweru and officers from Naruwasco and Nawassco service providers.
