
Nakuru County Government Supports Youth Empowerment Through Sports

Nakuru County Government’s commitment to youth empowerment through sports took center stage as Chief Officer for Youth, Sports, Talent, and Resource Mobilization, Pastor Alex Maina, interacted with the Nakuru County baseball team in Elburgon, Molo Sub-county.
The Elburgon team, comprising various local alignment units, diligently follows a structured training and competition program outlined by their leadership. Noteworthy is the presence of five players who hold positions in the national baseball team, showcasing the team’s caliber.
Pastor Alex Maina expressed the department’s unwavering support in cultivating talent across diverse sports disciplines. Emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering economic stability and maintaining physical well-being among the youth, he assured the team of ongoing assistance.
During the engagement, the Chief Officer responded positively to a request from Silvester Muiruri, the team’s captain. Muiruri had requested uniforms for the team, a vital aspect for both identity and team spirit.
Pastor Maina pledged to deliver the uniforms promptly, underscoring the administration’s commitment to facilitating a conducive environment for the growth of young talent in Nakuru County.
