In a significant stride towards fulfilling the promise Governor Susan Kihika made to provide quality, affordable, and timely healthcare, the County Government of Nakuru has entered into a partnership with Standard Medical Group.
Governor Susan signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with StanMed Group today, marking a significant step in the county’s healthcare journey.
The collaboration, valued at Kshs3 billion (USD 20 million), aims to equip, and upgrade existing hardware facilities and services at the Nakuru County Referral and Teaching Hospitals (NCTRH) through the Health Transformation Program, aptly named “HealthNet.”
This strategic partnership is geared towards enhancing existing facilities, equipping the new Outpatient Block to optimize service delivery systems, expanding hospital services, and introducing cutting-edge technology.
The Kshs3 billion investment will be channelled into various aspects of the Health Transformation Program, addressing critical areas such as medical equipment procurement, infrastructure enhancement, digital healthcare transformation, supply chain management, and human capital development at NCRTH.
Under this comprehensive program, StanMed Group is set to play a vital role by providing and installing state-of-the-art medical equipment approved by the County.
Additionally, a cutting-edge Health Information Management System will be implemented across all core hospital functions.
The agreement also includes the installation of end-user hardware for both clinical and administrative purposes.
Notably, StanMed Group will spearhead continuous Human Capital Improvement Programs, ensuring that the hospital staff is equipped to deliver first-class and affordable healthcare.
On the county’s part, internal modifications to the existing infrastructure at NCTRH will be undertaken to accommodate the Health Transformation Program seamlessly.
Governor Susan Kihika has pledged that the County will expedite necessary approvals and ensure that hospital staff adhere to the agreed terms, performing their functions professionally and effectively.
This collaborative agreement signifies a monumental step towards realizing the promise made by Governor Susan Kihika in her manifesto to transform healthcare in Nakuru County through strengthened collaboration and partnerships.
“The primary goal is to provide not only adequate and quality healthcare but also ensure its timely accessibility to all residents,” she said.
The Governor also urged the county’s health sector staff to recommit and rededicate themselves to the service of the people under this transformative program.
Governor Susan Kihika expressed gratitude to StanMed Group for their collaboration in equipping the NCTRH, enhancing service delivery systems, and fostering skills development for the health workforce.
She gave an assurance that Nakuru County will fully cooperate to ensure the successful implementation of the program for the benefit of its residents.
Nakuru County is now poised to achieve significant milestones in healthcare, propelled by strategic partnerships, financial commitment, and a visionary Health Transformation Program.
