Nakuru County’s Commitment to Youth Empowerment Through Free Skill-Building Initiatives.

County Chief Officer for Youths, Sports and Talent Pastor Alex Maina alongside Director Youths, Sports and Talent Josephat Kimemia held a consultative meeting with the youth representatives from Menengai West Ward at the Nakuru Empowerment Center-Bondeni. The meeting aimed to create awareness among the youths on addressing their issues through the right communication channels.
Pastor Maina reassured the youth of H.E Governor Susan Kihika’s unwavering support in providing them with the necessary tools and equipment to enhance their skills. He also urged the youth representatives to raise awareness on the projects offered by Nakuru County which are free of charge to the entire public.
The director lauded pastor Alex Maina for encouraging the youths to engage in public participation to address their issues effectively.
Garden Odera appreciated the county’s team for engaging with them and creating awareness of what the county does in support of the youth. They promised to create awareness among the other youths in their ward.
Director Josphat Kimemia took the team to the music studio where two hundred music artists have been able to record their music for free without incurring any costs. There are rules and regulations to govern the music studio enabling the artists to adhere freely.
The digital hub is equipped with digital computers that enable those in the facility to be equipped with computer skills through learning the different computer packages that are essential in the digital world. After graduation, the management can facilitate job placements for their clients.
They also learnt of a textile hub at the empowerment centre that has helped youths who are upgrading their skills. Since its inception, the empowerment centre has served the sixth cohort of graduates from the centre.
The director Josphat Kimemia told the youths that the skills learnt at the empowerment centre are free of charge and that the centre is open to all youths in the county who are willing to learn and be guided by the trainers from the Nakuru Empowerment Center Bondeni.
