Nakuru County’s Soaring Adventure as Paragliding Competition Takes Flight

County Executive Committee Member for Youth, Sports, Gender and Social Services Josephine Achieng’ engaged with Paragliders Officials setting the stage for a thrilling event at the Nakuru County’s Headquarters.

Paragliding, a sport of lightweight, free-flying gliders, took centre stage as the delegation, led by Paragliding Federation of Kenya Chairperson Mr. Joel Cheluget, extended an invitation to the upcoming competition.

Scheduled for the 22nd of January 2024 at Kijabe Hill, Naivasha Sub-County, the competition promises to be a global spectacle, drawing participants from 32 countries.

Ms Achieng, with unwavering commitment, assured the Paragliding Federation of the department’s full support. She also emphasized the provision of ambulances during the competition, ensuring medical services are readily available.

Beyond the adrenaline-fueled competition, the CEC underscored the profound impact on the community.

This event is poised to create opportunities for Nakuru’s residents, offering a powerful tool against drug abuse. Moreover, the spectacle is set to become a magnet for adventurous tourists seeking unique experiences in Nakuru County.

As the countdown begins, the Nakuru Paragliding Competition is not merely an aviation showdown; it’s a catalyst for community engagement, health awareness, and a tourism boost.
