Nakuru receives donations of motorbikes from USAID Tujenge Jamii

The County’s Department of Health Services has received six motorbikes to help increase access to health services in far-to-reach areas. The estimated cost is about Kshs. 1.5 Million.
UTJ has been supporting the county Health Department for the last two years on various programs including; HIV, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health- RMNCAH, nutrition, Water and Sanitation Hygiene-WASH and other co-implemented projects like advocacy for Quality Health.
UTJ Chief of Party committed that they will be willing to discuss further partnerships that will increase access to quality health in Nakuru and all the regions they support.
“We will be glad to procure and donate more bikes if we receive feedback on the utility of the donation we have given out today,” he noted.
While receiving the donation today, Chief Officer for Public Health, Ms Alice Abuki, commended this kind of partnership and promised to work with UTJ and any other partner with the vision to better the quality of health service delivery in Nakuru County.
“I am sure H.E. Governor Susan Kihika will be delighted about this because it’s part of her manifesto to increase access to quality healthcare services to the last mile in Nakuru County,” she reiterated.
