Nakuru County has today hosted a team of senior officers from Tharaka Nithi county for a benchmarking tour on Health service delivery and the Management of Facility Improvement Fund-FIF. The delegation comprised the County’s Principal Legal Officer and the County Health Management team.
Nakuru County Chief Executive Committee Member- CECM for Health, Ms Jackline Osoro welcomed the delegation for an experience sharing at the Nakuru County Referral and Teaching Hospital, which is the county’s main facility.
The delegation, led by the Chief officer of Medical services, Tharaka Nithi County, Mr Aggrey Karani, had a chance to tour the facility with areas of interest in the ongoing infrastructural development, radiology centre, medical waste disposal mechanisms, automated revenue collection, and health management systems.
Dr John Murima challenged the team to streamline Health Management systems because it is only through prudent management of the county resources, especially the FIF that will sustain the Health service delivery.
FIF regulation that allows for ring-fencing of resources back to service delivery in Nakuru has led to the introduction of specialized services in their hospital service menu.
Also Present was the Chief Officer for Public Health, Ms Alice Abuki, and the PGH Medical Superintendent, Dr Aisha Maina among other members of the County Health Management Team.
