Skills for Inclusive Digital Participation

Skills for Inclusive Digital Participation (SIDP)

The program is an initiative by the British Council, in partnership with Rockbridge, LISH AI Labs, and the Nakuru County Government, seeks to equip youth, women, and persons with disabilities with vital digital skills. The program is currently being implemented in Menengai, Free Area, Bondeni, and Daraja.
The Chief Officer, ICT and e-Government, Catherine Changwony had the honour of representing H.E. Governor Susan Kihika during the official launch of the Skills for Inclusive Digital Participation (SIDP) program at Menengai East Ward, Nakuru County.

As County Government, we are committed to empowering our people with relevant skills for the digital age. I encouraged the youth to take full advantage of this opportunity, use online platforms positively, and pursue certification—which can open doors to online job opportunities and beyond.

One of the students, Peter Calvin, expressed his appreciation to the County Government for this valuable program. He shared how the digital skills he’s acquiring are already helping him work online and earn an income.

I also reminded them not just to learn, but to pass on these skills to others. This is how we build stronger, more connected communities. Grateful to LISH AI Labs, Rockbridge, and all our partners. Together, we are transforming lives through technology.

I was joined by Leonard Kurui ICT Director Mr. Dan Njiriri, LISH AI Labs CEO Ms. Nancy Jeruto, the ICT Officer, and the Assistant to the area MCA.
