Preparations towards the International Youth Week in high gear

Nakuru County is gearing up for the upcoming International Youth Week that will take place between 7th and 12th August 2023.

During the event, H.E. Governor Susan Kihika will be commissioning the Podcast Studio and a Music Recording Studio. These state-of-the-art facilities will provide a platform for young talents to showcase their creativity and amplify their voices. Additionally, several other projects will be launched such as the Menengai Textile Hub, the official opening of the Ajiry Digital Centre and the launch of the Youth Policy.

As such, Nakuru County Executive for Youth, Sports, Social Services, and Inclusivity, Josephine Atieno Achieng held a meeting with a technical team that is working tirelessly to make the event a success.

The meeting was attended by Chief Officer Youth, Gender and Sports Stellah Mwaura, Representative from Political Office Francis Njoroge, Director Housing Arch. B. M Maina, Ajiry Centre manager Victoria Kithongo, Director Realz Hand of Love Nancy Ndegwa, Culture Officer Eric Muriuki and SCA-NTW Pamela Tum.

Hon. Francis Njoroge from the Political Office said the youth, women and PWDs are set to benefit from the County Government tenders offered. The process to award winners on various levels during the youth week should be free and fair.

The Directorate of Youths Affairs emphasised the importance of inclusivity for the success towards youth week in August.
