
Renewed hope and joy for families affected by fire incidences.

The Chief Officer of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance, Alice Abuki led the directorate officers in the distribution of relief donations to sixteen families rendered homeless following fire incidences in Elburgon, Turi, and Kamara Wards. Iron sheets for descent roofing, bedding,s and an assortment of foodstuffs were given to the affected families.
Ms Abuki while conveying H.E Governor Susan Kihika’s goodwill message to the affected families, urged residents to observe safety precautions while handling gas lighters, electric gadgets, and fuel energy from firewood sources. The sentiments were also echoed by Kamara ward MCA who acknowledged the prompt intervention and kind support extended by Governor Susan Kihika’s administration to affected families. Ms Abuki also shared the County Emergency toll-free number 0800724138 to residents.
Hon. John Mwangi the Turi ward MCA, commended the prompt assistance from the department whenever a disaster strikes. He appreciated the county leadership, calling upon residents to support the devolved unit’s development agenda.
On behalf of the affected families, Tisman Njuguna from Muchorwe center in Turi ward thanked the County Governor for the kind gesture and support accorded to the recovering families, saying this will enable them to reorganize themselves and move on.
