Support Youths to Nurture Talents – Sports CECM urges Communities

Youth inclusivity and empowerment are key agendas of Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika.

Sports enhance harmony, unity and a healthy environment among youths. It reduces youths’ involvement in criminal and unproductive activities making them an asset to their community.

The CECM for Gender, Youths and Sports Ms Josephine Achieng has urged the leaders to come together and nurture the talents of young people in their communities.

The CECM made the comments on Saturday when she joined the honourable MCA Peter Palang’a during the annual Talent and Sports search in Ol’karia Ward, Naivasha Sub-county.

“The County Government through my department will continue sponsoring and uplifting youths in sports, career progression and creative arts towards curbing idleness, crime and drug abuse,” said Ms Achieng.

She emphasised an all-inclusive society where youth have a place to air their views and help build their dreams, this being one of Governor Susan Kihika’s agendas.

John Kihagi, Chief Officer for Gender Ms Gladys Kamuren, Chief Officer for Sports, Youths and Vocational Training Ms Stella Mwaura, Chief Officer for Tourism and Culture Ms Rosemary Kimani, MCAs Eliud Kamau (Mai Mahiu) Virginia Gichanga (Hellsgate) Hon Ann Muthoni (Special needs) and Hon Alex Mbugua (Lakeview ward).
