
The County In support of Grading and Upgrading of Coaches and Referees

Chief Officer for Youth, Sports, Talent, and Resource Mobilization, Pastor Alex Maina, spearheaded a three-day induction at Menengai High School for the National Handball Association, facilitating the grading and upgrading of referees and coaches from 24 counties.
The counties are Nakuru,Kericho,Baringo,Uasin Gishu,Laikipia,Bomet,Trans Nzoia,West Pokot,Nairobi,Muranga,Migori,Kiambu,Narok,Kajiado,Elgeyo Marakwet,Nyandarua,Nandi,Kisii,Tharaka Nithi,Bungoma,Machakos,Marsabit and Busia
Mr. Willy Rop, the Chief Officer for Trade and Industrialization from Kericho County, commended Pastor Alex Maina for his efforts in uniting sports stakeholders and urged him to support the Handball Association in securing a central sports facility.
Pastor Alex emphasized on the importance of regular meetings to enhance unity and development. He also advocated for the inclusion of more coaches to support key players, aligning with Governor Susan Kihika’s dedication to nurturing talents in Nakuru County.
Head of Public Relations at Athletics Kenya, Jephta Rono, who was present at the event thanked the County Government for their efforts to ensure that the sports fraternity is well catered for. John Karani the Technical Director spoke of their wish to hold more competitive games to bring more players on board.
