Thrilling Comeback for Nakuru Bucks FC with 3-2 Victory Against St. Joseph’s Youth

Nakuru Bucks secured a tight 3-2 victory over St. Joseph’s Youth at Kamukunji grounds in the Division 1 Zone B tournament. Both teams hail from Nakuru County, emphasizing a strong focus on local youth recruitment, with 95% of players originating from Nakuru.

The FKF Division One, positioned as the third tier in the Kenyan football league, operates with a promotion and relegation system connecting it to the Kenyan National Super League and the Kenyan Provincial League. Notably, Nakuru Bucks’ head coach, Mr. Peter Okidi, highlighted the varied professionalism levels among member clubs.

The commitment of the Nakuru County Executive Committee Member for Youth, Sports, Gender, and Social Services, Josephine Atieno Achieng, was evident as she assured unwavering support to the players. This commitment aligns with Governor Susan Kihika’s dedication to nurturing talents across the county.

Hon David Gikaria, the MP for Nakuru Town East, lauded both teams saying that he sees success in football in future here in Nakuru County where legends of sport will be recognised.

Nakuru Bucks FC made a major comeback during the game through Kwakwa who made it 1-2 in the early minutes of the second half.

Njoroge made an equaliser in the 70th minute and Omosa scored the winning goal in the last minutes giving Nakuru Bucks FC three straight points in the game. This has pushed the Bucks straight to the top of the table.
