
Youth to benefit from County Government Tenders and Business Opportunities in Nakuru

Nakuru County Executive Committee Members and Chief Officers from various departments gathered for a breakfast meeting at the Nakuru County Empowerment Center, Menengai Social Hall, Nakuru Town East Sub-county.
The Directorate of Youth Affairs has various creative spaces which include a Digital Hub, a Music Studio and podcast and a textile Hub. The discussions focused on exploring opportunities across the county department in support of the textile hub and Podcast Studio.
Addressing the gathering, County Secretary Dr Samuel Mwaura emphasized the need to support the production centres, focusing on empowering young people across the county which aligns with the Governor’s Commitment.
The CECM for Youth, Sport and Social Services Josephine Atieno appealed to the departments to give youth opportunities to make a decent income through tenders and other business opportunities.
The Chief Officer for Environment Kennedy Mungai urged the Departmental Heads to prioritize the Nakuru County Empowerment Center to promote the local talents thus creating job opportunities in the county.
The Director for Youth Affairs Josephat Kimemia urged the County Officials to promote the directorate by putting more orders even for family outfits.
The County Chief Officer for Youth Sports Talent and Resource Mobilization Pastor Alex Maina strongly believes the Center will gain momentum and will benefit young people which will reduce high rates of unemployment, crime and drug abuse in the community.
