The renovation of changing rooms for men and women, baseball backstop construction, gate installation, levelling, and goalpost installation works at Gilgil Stadium have commenced. The project aims at empowering youth and talent development in the Gilgil sub-county.
While handing over the site to the contractor, Gladys Kamuren the Chief Officer for Gender, Social Services, and Inclusivity, emphasized the significance of this facility in empowering the Youth and urged the Project Management Committee to collaborate closely with the contractors for timely completion of the project.
CO Kamuren further called on the contractor to utilize the local labour to create employment and enhance ownership of the facility by the community. The construction of a perimeter wall at Viwandani Social Hall in Naivasha Sub-County will also commence after being handed over to the contractor.
Hon Muraya Mwangi the MCA for Viwandani Ward promised the contractor that the rampant issue of electricity shortage would be sorted out within a few days. He also promised that the local administration would provide security at the site.
Mary Njeri, a member of the Project Management Committee, promised that the committee will be available for any consultations with the contractor and is willing to offer him full support.
The events were attended by projects coordinator Abel Mungai, engineers, members of the Project Management Committees and representatives from the Gilgil Ward MCA’s office.
