The Nakuru City Board is set to start installing floodlights in KMC London Ward to improve security and well-being of residents in the area.
The City’s technical team led by City Manager Mr Gitau Thabanja has identified key areas within the informal settlement that are in urgent need of floodlights.
During the visit to KMC, the team engaged with residents, listening to their concerns and gathering feedback on pressing security issues in the community.
Residents expressed relief and appreciation for the planned installations noting that improved lighting will greatly reduce crime and enhance safety during evening hours.
The detailed assessment conducted by the City’s technical team also revealed the need for the construction of an ablution block to serve the settlement.
This facility will address basic sanitation needs thus contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
Mr. Thabanja assured residents that the floodlight installation will begin promptly and emphasized the City Management’s commitment to ensuring that KMC receives necessary infrastructure improvements.
This initiative is part of H.E Governor Susan Kihika’s broader efforts to enhance public safety and infrastructure across the city reflecting a proactive approach to community development and responsive governance.
