Nakuru Players Showcase Their Prowess at Talanta Hela Games

The recently concluded Talanta Hela National Under 19 Inter-County Football Tournament has showcased the county’s prowess. Five Nakuru County players stood out at the competitions, with three earning spots to represent Kenya U19 in Spain for friendly matches.
Elisha Nalianya, Nicholas Odhiambo, Peter Juma, and Ismael Odhiambo emerged as Nakuru County’s pride, set to hoist the flag high. Elisha Nalianya’s leadership qualities earned him the captaincy of the U19 team, a nod from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
Josephine Atieno, the County Executive Committee Member for Youth, Sports, Gender, and Social Services, reiterated the County Government’s unwavering dedication to sports development. She emphasized the commitment to identifying, nurturing, and providing opportunities for every young talent to flourish.
As the team braces for its journey to Spain, it carries its aspirations and the hopes of the Kenyan community. Their success, fueled by local leaders’ support and determination underscores the immense potential within Kenyan youth, promising a bright future for Kenyan football in the global arena.
The players thanked the County Government for assistance with the facilities to train and better themselves. The exposure that they were provided with was also something they were grateful for.
