Roret-Quarry-RVIST is now accessible after three decades of neglect
Written by Nancy Kihara
Residents of Kabasis have extended their gratitude to the County Government of Nakuru for the opening of the Roret-Quarry-RVIST road. This development marks a milestone, as the road had been impassable for nearly 30 years, hindering access to essential services and institutions in the areas.
The opened road has received positive feedback, particularly benefiting students attending the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) and residents, thus easing commuting and improving connectivity for the residents of Kabasis and the surrounding area.
Surveyors from the Department of Lands were present to accurately demarcate and ensure the road’s alignment, further signifying the government’s commitment to proper planning and infrastructure development. This exercise follows a public participation meeting recently held by the Chief Officer for Infrastructure Samuel Ndegwa and the residents.
County Executive Member for Infrastructure, Engineer Michael Kamau, was present to oversee the exercise, emphasizing the county’s dedication to improving local infrastructure. The sentiment of relief and optimism was echoed by Judith Cheruiyot, a resident of Kabasis, who noted that this road is a dream come true for many, as it will ease transportation.
As Kabasis residents continue to express their appreciation, the County Government of Nakuru through the Leadership of H.E Governor Susan Kihika remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering on its promises, aiming to ensure a more connected community for all its citizens.
Present were area MCA Hon Alex Langat, Assistant Engineer Robert Gitonga, ward administrator, Assistant County Commissioner, area chief and the residents.
