Notification of Unclaimed Deceased Persons at Naivasha Sub-County Hospital

The Department of Health, Nakuru County Government, hereby informs the general public and relevant stakeholders that twenty-three (23) decomposed and unclaimed bodies are currently being held at the Naivasha Sub-County Hospital Mortuary. These bodies have remained unclaimed for over twenty-one (21) days, contrary to the provisions of the Public Health Act, Cap 242, Laws of Kenya.
Pursuant to the said Act, the Hospital is issuing a final 21-day notice for the identification and claiming of the bodies by relatives, next of kin, or legally recognized representatives.
Should this notice period lapse without any claims, the Hospital will proceed, in conjunction with the relevant authorities, to bury the bodies in a mass grave at the Naivasha Public Cemetery (Longonot), following all required legal and public health procedures.
The Department of Health remains committed to upholding public health regulations and ensuring that all deceased persons are treated with dignity and respect.
