Written by Ruth Magak and Brenda Chelang’at
Health facility managers from all Level 4 hospitals in Nakuru County today held a special engagement forum to enhance the management of the Facility Improvement Fund (FIF) for the Financial Year 2023/24.
The forum provided a platform for the managers to share valuable insights and recommendations on how to optimize FIF utilization and improve the quality of healthcare services.
The Chief Officer of Medical Services, Dr John Murima, emphasized the need for the managers to strictly adhere to the policy guidelines as stated in the Public Finance Management Act.
Dr Murima further noted the need for transparency and accountability in managing FIF to improve the quality of health service delivery and increase revenue collection in healthcare facilities.
The forum was a step in the right direction toward achieving this goal. It not only provided an opportunity for health facility managers to network and share their best practices with their peers but also to learn from experts in the field.
Transparency and accountability in the management of FIF are one of the strongest agendas in H.E. Governor Susan Kihika’s manifesto.
