County delivers iron sheets, blankets, and mattresses to a family affected by fire in Subukia
On Wednesday, the County Government of Nakuru today delivered 20 iron sheets, 10 blankets, and 5 mattresses to a family in Moro Hills, a village in Subukia that lost its four family members and property worth unknown value to a morning fire accident.
The inferno claimed a 43-year old Jacintha Wamucii who was expectant together with her three children of ages: 5, 3, and 1.
On the previous date, the late mother of 8 had is said to have gone to bury her own sister and being tired took a long rest and couldn’t be alerted when the fire broke in the morning, just a few minutes after her other children left for school.
The Chief Officer for Disaster Management Ann Njenga delivered the donation and a message of sympathy from Governor Lee Kinyanjui who promised to support the family during this difficult time.
She regretted that the family couldn’t be rescued due to the nature of the house and distance away from the neighbors.
Ms.Njenga thanked the neighbors for swinging to action to support the remaining family members by offering to erect a new house.
