#GovernorLeeDelivers: Kiamunyi Estate to enjoy clean, sufficient water for domestics use

The Roret-Kiamunyi water project that is being done by the County Government of Nakuru designed to serve 20000 residents of upper and lower Kiamunyi is nearing completion.

The County has so far spent Ksh. 35 million in drilling, equipping and laying pipes along the 9 kilometres stretch from a borehole in Kerma area, Njoro to Baraka Estate in Kiamunyi.

The water is being pumped by gravity to a 225 Cubic Meter Tank in Mercy Njeri in Menengai West Ward then distributed to households.

While handing over 160mm pipes worth Ksh. 7 million, to Nakuru Rural Water and Sanitation Company (Naruwasco) that is implementing the works, the Ag. Chief Officer for Water Jane Wambui Mureu said only 3 km are left to complete the 12-kilometre pipeline stretch.

” We are glad that only 3 kilometres are remaining to complete this project that will end the water shortage that has for a long time troubled the residents of Kiamunyi.

She added that this is part of the 50 solarised water projects that have been completed in all the 11 Subcounties established to end the water shortage problem.

All these are done in line with Governor Lee Kinyajui’s promise to provide sufficient, safe and affordable water to residents.

Menengai West MCA Symon Mwangi thanked the Governor saying since he came to office, he has initiated projects that directly uplift people’s lives.
