Health Department partners with KMTC, Nakuru to improve healthcare outcomes

H.E. Governor Susan Kihika’s agenda on Health seeks to strengthen the health system and improve the health outcomes of Nakuru residents through constructive partnerships.

To achieve this agenda, the County’s Department of Health is working closely with the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Nakuru, to explore collaboration areas that will ensure efficient and quality health service delivery in the county, in line with the Governor’s agenda on health.

CECM Health, Jacqueline Osoro led a delegation of critical Health managers to the KMTC Nakuru campus where they held fruitful discussions with the Principal, Mr. John Anyira.

Ms Jacqueline Osoro emphasized the need for KMTC to introduce more specialized courses like Oncology nursing to meet the rising demand for cancer services at the Nakuru Regional Cancer Centre.

This collaboration will ensure that residents have access to quality healthcare services, particularly those in rural areas who often have limited access to healthcare services.

The partnership between the County’s Department of Health and KMTC will facilitate the training of more healthcare professionals in the county, increasing the number of healthcare workers.

This will ensure that the residents of Nakuru County have access to quality healthcare services, and introducing more specialized courses will enhance the skills of healthcare workers, ensuring they are equipped to provide quality healthcare services.

This visit by CECM Health to KMTC Nakuru is a positive step towards achieving efficient and quality health service delivery in Nakuru County. The collaboration between the two entities will positively impact the lives of residents, particularly those in rural areas who often have limited access to healthcare services.

“We are committed to working together to achieve the Governor’s agenda on health and ensure the well-being of all residents of Nakuru County,” said Ms Jacqueline Osoro.

Mr Anyira said this is a positive gesture and that the institution has received the most excellent support from Governor Susan Kihika.

“This is the second time we are hosting the County team for fruitful discussion and we were in awe to have the Deputy Governor visit our institution within the first two weeks when they assumed office. We believe even the Governor is soon coming and we are glad that her team is deliberately working with us to achieve the best for the County,” he said.
