Bringing Clean Water closer to the Nakuru residents

Governor Susan Kihika is making significant strides in ensuring everyone has access to clean and safe water. This is evident through the progress of various water projects across the county:
The Belbur Water Project in Njoro Ward, with 1km of piping done, a new water kiosk, and a tank already complete. Over 300 households are now enjoying clean water including the communities around Cheson, St. Joseph Hospital, and Piave.
Tuei Water Project in Naswet Ward has also experienced great progress, the borehole drilling is done, and the County has embarked on laying down 1.3km of pipes. Next will be the building of a 100m³ tank and setting up a water kiosk. Once completed, this project will benefit over 600 households including Masaita Primary, and the local chief’s office.
Njokerio Borehole Water Project in Njoro Wardvis another success story, this project is already serving over 200 households thanks to its new solarization and tank installation. The project is now serving Njokerio Dispensary, Public institution and many other areas.
The Kamasai Water Project in Mauche ward has also reached a major milestone with the completion of a new water tank and an extensive 2km pipeline network. Over 200 households, including public institutions and the bustling Kamasai Center, are set to benefit once complete.
Nakuru County Department of Water and Sanitation, with County engineers, taking the lead in assessing the work done in both Njoro and Naswet wards.
George Thuo, the Sub-county Water Engineer, shared his optimism about the project’s impact. He highlighted that the new infrastructure is set to alleviate the long-standing water scarcity in the area, hence enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
Joining him was Assistant Sub-county Water Engineer Geoffrey Githinji who echoed his sentiments, underscoring the team’s commitment to community well-being.
